1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using DevNotz ("the Service") at devnotz.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
DevNotz is a free, cloud-based markdown note-taking application designed for software developers, students, and technical professionals. The Service allows you to create, edit, store, and search personal notes written in Markdown.
3. Account Registration
To use DevNotz you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate registration information.
- Keeping your password secure and confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Accounts are for individual use — you may not share your account credentials.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Store or transmit illegal, harmful, abusive, or malicious content.
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account.
- Perform automated scraping, crawling, or data harvesting of the Service.
- Circumvent any rate limiting, security, or authentication mechanism.
- Distribute spam, malware, or phishing content via the Service.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. Your Content
Your notes and any content you create in DevNotz remain your property. You retain all intellectual property rights to content you submit to the Service.
By using the Service, you grant DevNotz a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership over your notes and will never use your note content for any purpose other than operating the Service.
6. Service Availability
We aim to keep DevNotz available and running at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance that temporarily makes the Service unavailable.
We recommend periodically copying important notes to a local backup.
7. Free Service
DevNotz is currently free to use with no limits on the number of notes. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans or usage limits in the future. If we do, existing free users will be given reasonable notice and a transition period before any limits take effect.
8. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@devnotz.com. Upon account deletion, all your notes and personal data will be permanently removed from our servers within 7 business days.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, with or without notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DevNotz and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months prior to the event giving rise to the claim (which, for free accounts, is zero).
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or completely secure.
11. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of the jurisdiction where DevNotz operates.
